When Windows voice typing is worth your attention
Start with the built-in option if you only need an occasional sentence and are happy to edit it yourself. Keep it if it already does the job. A new app should earn the install.
When Vokalu fits
Try Vokalu when you regularly correct names, expand the same links, or rewrite a reply’s tone. Those repeated edits are the useful comparison. Raw recognition alone does not tell you how much work is left before sending.
Run a trial that tells you something
Dictate the same three messages with Windows + H and Vokalu. Count corrections and check names, dates, and punctuation. If the free option is already good enough for your work, there is no reason to switch.
Keep track of the time from starting a dictation to having text you would actually send. Include corrections.
